VERIFICATION LOG · EAR TESTED

What changed

Every month we re-check the pricing, plan, and licensing claims on our test-driven pages against the vendors’ own official pages. This log is the public record: what we checked, what changed, what held, and — just as important — what we could not verify. A claim we cannot re-verify is never silently kept as “checked”: it is flagged here until the next successful check.

November 1, 2026 — Monthly verification pass

Pages checked: 15 (all Tier 1 + Tier 2: 4 comparisons pages, pricing explained, plans hub, voiceover cost guide, TTS cost calculator, deals, 3 guides, guides hub, tests hub, blind-test methodology)

  • Unchanged — Murf: usage-based model confirmed on murf.ai/pricing (checked November 1, 2026): $10 free credit for API calls, $0.01 per 1,000 characters on Falcon 2.1, purchased credit never expires. Matches the figures quoted on our Murf comparison. One wording note: Murf’s page does not state in the text we could read whether the $10 free credit renews monthly, so our “$10 free credit/month” wording is flagged for a wording check next run.
  • Unchanged — Play.ht: still shut down. Meta acquired the PlayAI team in July 2025 and the service shut down permanently on December 31, 2025; the play.ht domain no longer loads. Our Play.ht page remains a migration guide, not a live comparison.
  • Unchanged — vendor status: Cartesia, Fish Audio, Rime, and Descript all confirmed operating (October 2026 product launches and pricing pages). No figures we quote for them changed.
  • Unchanged — ElevenLabs (verified late in the run): elevenlabs.io/pricing read on November 1, 2026. Every figure we publish confirmed: Free 10,000 credits/mo; Starter $6/mo, 30,000 credits; Creator $22/mo, 121,000 credits; Pro $99/mo, 600,000 credits; Scale $299/mo, 1,800,000 credits; Business $990/mo, 6,000,000 credits; annual billing = two months free (Starter effectively $5/mo, Creator $18.33/mo); free tier carries no commercial license, Starter is the first tier listing “Commercial License”; Creator first month $11 (50% off) confirmed — an outside report of a “$1 first month” turned out to be the Starter promotion below, not Creator. Key claims re-run and holding: 10,000 credits ≈ 10 minutes, 30,000 ≈ 30 minutes, regenerations spend credits again.
  • Changed — new limited-time offer: ElevenLabs is showing Starter first month for $1 (83% off), bannered “until Nov 8” on elevenlabs.io/pricing (November 1, 2026). Our pages did not mention it; the deals page now carries it with its November 8, 2026 end date. Regular Starter price is unchanged at $6/mo.
  • Note: comparisons/cheapest-ai-voice-plan-commercial-license.html exists in our drafts but is not published on this site, so it was excluded from this pass.

Next verification: December 2026.

October 1, 2026 — Claim inventory & disclosure review (backfilled)

Pages inventoried: 16 draft/live pages — every pricing, credit, and licensing figure extracted for the verification system. Quarterly FTC disclosure review completed the same day: no change to FTC endorsement guidance since the June 2023 Guides revision; our disclosure templates still comply; the civil-penalty figure in our internal templates was corrected to up to $53,088 per violation per the FTC’s December 2025 Consumer Review Rule warning letters.

This entry was backfilled on November 1, 2026, when this log page was first published.
