Guides

Every guide on this page is built from a real test: a specific creator problem, an actual generated sample, the settings used, and the honest limitations we found. We don’t publish a guide until the test exists.

ElevenLabs + Pictory: the 2-step faceless YouTube workflow

Status: published October 14, 2026 — the 2-step workflow we run on Tool Tested

Best AI voice for YouTube narration

Status: page structure live — A/B listening audio pending

Scored on the actual job: delivery that holds attention, the revision problem, commercial licensing, pronunciation control, and cost per finished minute. Our pick, the runner-up, and the identical-script test protocol — with samples embedded the day they’re generated.

How I narrate videos without recording myself

Status: page structure live — test audio pending

The full workflow: writing for the ear, script prep that fixes mispronunciations, generating in sections, and the cloning trick that means you never re-record a whole video because one fact changed.

In the test queue

These are the problems we’re testing first, based on questions real creators keep asking. Status updates are posted as tests complete — nothing below is published as a finished guide yet.

1. Fix mispronounced and robotic AI narration

Status: test in progress — not yet published

Butchered acronyms, dollar amounts read like phone numbers, pacing that screams “generated”. We’re testing script-prep fixes (spelled-out numbers, phonetic spelling, pause tags) against the same voice, and listening to which ones actually change the output.

2. The revision problem: fixing one line without re-recording everything

Status: test in progress — not yet published

A client (or you) wants one sentence changed after the recording is done. We’re testing the voice-clone regeneration workflow: how well the patched line matches, where splice points are audible, and when re-recording is still the better call.

3. Which plan do you actually need — and can you monetize?

Status: test in progress — not yet published

The free tier doesn’t allow commercial use; that fact alone decides the question for most creators. We’re doing honest break-even math for real publishing cadences — including when the honest answer is “you don’t need to pay”.

Meanwhile, the TTS cost calculator already does this math live.

4. YouTube monetization safety for AI narration

Status: test in progress — not yet published

YouTube’s 2025 “inauthentic content” policy enforcement scared a lot of creators. We’re reading the actual policy text and separating what it says from the panic — and we won’t claim certainty where the policy is genuinely ambiguous.
